We Get a Pole in the Backyard

It's been a while since I last updated, sorry. Adam got a new job as an Electrical Trainee for the City of Tacoma. What that means is he's training for the Apprenticeship test in a few months and his goal is to be accepted into the Lineman position for the City. Adam, the Walker Boys and Ivan (another trainee) set a 40 foot pole to practice climbing. Random!

Oh! And we got a new truck. LOVE IT!!! It has not been named, yet.

They backed the trailer up to the retaining wall. Put the excavator on the trailer and Nathan beautifully got the excavator in the backyard.

And they began to dig. There was also many shovels, beers and a jumping jack compacter.

AWESOME!

The King Catches a King

Holy Moly! Adam caught an 18 pound King salmon in Commencement Bay. This is the largest salmon he's ever caught! It was mighty tasty!

Again, not so blessed with great fish photography.

Sekiu

The fourth of July was a relaxing one. Adam of course proved himself "King Fisherman" of the group by catching the largest fish of the weekend. It was a great time, even Ryan (Adam's brother, yes biological), despite getting seasick for the first time, caught a good amount!

I'm getting a little better taking fish pictures, sorry it's blurry.

Look What WE Caught!

It's definitly fishing season and Adam has been spending a lot of his free time on the water! He caught this really ugly Lingcod, but it made great beer-battered fish. I'm not a very good fish photographer, yet.

Look at these beautiful Dungess Crab we caught out at the mouth of the Nisqually river. They made an awesome fest!

Mexico was great!

We're back and we had a great time! Our adventures included parasailing, surfing, snorkeling, fishing and lots of booze. The weather was beautiful and almost 90 degrees the whole trip.

My view from the pool, right next to the bar.

Our resort from the beach!

Parasailing was pretty. They launched you from the beach and landed you on the beach. Pat did just fine in the air. Adam was not so lucky. While in the air the boat engine died. Adam got dunked. He lost his new sunglasses and new hat. Luckily hats float!

Adam and Pat went fishing one morning. They saw sea turtles, stingrays and a huge pod of dolphins. Adam said there must have been hundreds. They got right up to the boat. He said you could feel them bumping into the sides and the bottom of their fishing boat.

Click on the photo for a better view of the dolphins.

The boys caught an Albacore and a black tuna. They picked us up and we headed across the bay to Las Gatas where they prepared our fish for lunch. We sat on the beach with our toes in the sand. After lunch we went snorkeling at Las Gatas.

We had a great time. The food was fantastic, the weather was great, the people were friendly and we never got swine flu. Although we had a great time, it's good to be home.

We're off to Mexico

We're leaving for Mexico this Friday, May 15! We'll be back with photos and new stories.

Bubba's first boat ride

Bubba's a boater doggie! He likes the new boat.

He loves his life jacket. Kona wanted to see over the side.

The Narrows looks so big from underneath it.

It's fishing season

We bought a fishing boat! Adam's definitely got his money worth. More photos of salmon to come in the future!

Talk about an ugly fish!

Meet Artie

Get excited we planted artichokes! We should get about 10 from this one plant!!

Portland

We headed to Portland this weekend thanks to Nicco. Thanks Tweezie! We had a great time hanging out with Courtney. She was an amazing tour guide! We saw all of downtown Portland, the waterfront, Purl district and more. We checked out Kennedy School, which I'm sure Adam was thinking he would rather have gotten married there, it was the coolest thing we'd ever seen.

No trip is complete without checking out Voodoo doughnuts. They have everything from normal doughnuts, ones filled with pixi dust, regular doughnuts covered with oreos, peanut butter, or fruitloop, or coco puffs, or fruity pebbles. I had to get the maple bar bacon doughnut. Yes, I said bacon doughnut! It was fantastic!
